Ken first got involved in community theatre in Regina thru Regina Summer Stage in 1989. He first got involved with RLT playing The Stage Manager in Our Town (October 1992) directed by Bob Nicholls. He was elected to the RLT board of directors in May 1995 and became editor of RLT's newsletter Masks and Faces ; Ken has served on the board continuously since then, including two 3-year stints as President of RLT.  

Ken's first love is acting and singing. Outside of RLT he has appeared with Regina Summer Stage (most recently in Anything Goes! July 2002), Regina Lyric Light Opera (most recently in Sweeney Todd: the Demon Barber of Fleet Street May 2005), Co-Opera (Saskatoon), Prairie Opera, Opera Saskatchewan, Globe Theatre (in Nicholas Nickleby Spring 1997), University of Regina Faculty of Fine Arts (the opera Eos: the Dream of Nicholas Flood Davin September 2003). He has also sung as a soloist with Regina Symphony Orchestra, Regina Philharmonic Chorus, Regina Male Voice Choir.

For RLT, Ken's recent acting roles were in The Foursome (June 2004), Moon Over Buffalo (April 2003), The Play's the Thing (June 2001), and Will Any Gentleman? (February 2001). He won Best Actor at Theatre Saskatchewan 's TheatreFest 1999 in Moose Jaw for playing the nasty Thomas Cromwell in RLT's A Man for All Seasons (April 1999) directed by Sally Crooks, and Best Characterization at TheatreFest 1998 in Prince Albert for playing the ghost of SS Major Siegfried von Konigswald in RLT's Happy Birthday, Wanda June (April 1998) directed by Susan Parkin.

For RLT, Ken has directed the following productions: Unity (1918) (April 2005), Blood Relations (April 2004), Agatha Christie's Black Coffee (November 2001), Office Hours (November 2000), In the Cards (June 2000), Inherit the Wind (October 1998), and Cake-Walk (February 1998), as well as the one-act play A Little Something for the Ducks (January 1997).

Ken appears in RLT productions by permission of Canadian Actors' Equity Association. He's also a member of ACTRA, and has been heard in radio commercials, has been in TV commercials, and has appeared in episodes of the TV shows Incredible Story Studio , MythQuest , Moccasin Flats , and Corner Gas (Season 2, the slow pitch episode, and Season 3, the centennial episode).

Although he has a Master's Degree in Music (Vocal Performance) from the U. of Regina, Ken works by day for ISM Canada as a computer analyst. His two cats, Morticia and Pickle, wonder where he spends all his time and it's usually at the theatre.

During his time on the RLT board Ken has seen the following changes at RLT:

  • RLT amalgamated with Regina Little Theatre Building Company in 1998,
  • RLT adopted a completely revised Constitution in 1999,
  • the RLT season increased from 4 shows per year to 5, starting in 1999-2000,
  • RLT newsletters increased from 4 to 6 issues per year,
  • RLT had its 75th season in 2000-2001 and hosted TheatreFest 2001 that Easter,
  • RLT changed from rush/festival seating to assigned/reserved seating in 2001
  • RLT box office and membership details were computerized in 2002
  • RLT's one-act plays, AGM's etc. have moved from the basement to the main floor at the Regina Performing Arts Centre,
  • RLT now shares a (huge) amalgamated costume room with Regina Summer Stage, as well as office space,
  • RLT added a second, smaller rehearsal space, and renovated/expanded both the carpentry shop and the furniture storage room,
  • RLT repainted the rehearsal room and Green Room, and replaced the old carpet with vinyl tiles in 2005.
  • RLT and Theatre Regina jointly host the Radio Rides Again fundraiser shows in September, starting in 2004
