REGINA LITTLE THEATRE ( RLT ) was founded
in 1926, and is the oldest, continually-producing, English-speaking
theatre group in Western Canada (see E. Ross Stuart's 1984 book, The
History of Prairie Theatre ). RLT is a community theatre company
that engages amateur (primarily) and professional participants in
all aspects of production and administration.
Currently the events of an RLT season include: an annual general meeting (early September), a season-opening fundraiser gala, five full-length mainstage plays, two sets of one-act plays and a volunteer appreciation party. From time to time RLT hosts workshops and a playwrighting contest. RLT often also participates in theatre festivals. Objectives The objectives of the society are the promotion, encouragement, study and public performance of theatre, stagecraft and dramatic literature. Specific Aims
