We started in September 2004 with Radio Rides Again, and followed in September 2005 with Radio Rides Again … Again!, and both were wonderful successes! We are pleased to continue our tradition of fundraising and entertainment excellence for a third consecutive year by partnering once again with Theatre Regina (owners and operators of the Regina Performing Arts Centre) in our annual joint fundraising show and season opening gala, RAdio Rides Once More! RLT Life Member Jean Freeman has put together an evening of spectacular scripts including: • Our rendition of The Goon Show • The famous Charlie McCarthy and Mae West Adam & Eve sketch • The Wayne & Schuster favourite Rinse the Blood Off My Toga • And many others! Regina celebrities and your favourite actors from the community will perform these live on stage, set up to resemble a radio sound stage from the 1930s, 40s and 50s. Beside them on stage are the foley artists, who create all the necessary sound effects for each show (which can be just as entertaining as the show itself!) Interspersed between and within the shows are radio commercials, some dramatic, some musical, all performed live by cast members. It’s cabaret style seating, as we are offering not only a cash bar but also a full menu of food items at our canteen. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. so you can have something to eat and some conversation and drink with your friends. There will be a Silent Auction during this event, and you’ll have plenty of time to peruse those marvellous items and to bid, bid, bid! The shows will start at 8 p.m. and there will be one or two intermissions. The gala provides you with acomplete evening of entertainment for only $20 per person! Your admission will help to support RLT and Theatre Regina programs over the next year. Bring three friends and you can occupy a whole table. Bring more and we can move some tables together!
