NOTE:
Regrettably, Spring One-Acts
has been cancelled for the 2007 season.
Do you have a one-act play you'd like to stage? Or a suggestion for someone else to stage? Please let us know! RLT has two opportunities to participate in one-act plays: once in the fall, and once in the spring. One-act plays are just that: plays that only feature one act. Most of our main stage productions are two acts with an intermission in between. The one-act plays are typically shorter - kind of like dessert, instead of a whole meal. Unlike the main stage plays, the one-act plays are not chosen in advance. Instead, we rely on our active members to volunteer plays to stage. Each one-act event features two evenings
of short, one-act plays by a variety of authors. The There are many volunteer possibilities involved with a one-act play. You may want to write your own. You may want to direct. You may want to be part of a production crew. Or you may want to act in one of the plays. Many newcomers mark the beginning of their theatre "careers" by participating in one-act plays, and then eventually moving on to RLT main stage productions. If you are interested in acting, directing or working as part of the production crew for a one-act play this spring, please attend the audition evenings, or you may contact Andrea McNeil, Producer, One-Act Plays, at rlt@sasktel.net.
