Regina Little Theatre is a community based, volunteer run organization with the key word being “volunteer”. Everyone involved in production is involved because they are living their dreams of working in live theatre and loving every minute of the work they are doing! Starting with the play itself, the people you see on stage are simply the “tip of the iceberg” so to speak. Behind the scenes are volunteer directors, producers, stage managers, props people, set designers and builders, makeup and hair artists, lighting, sound and music technicians as well as costume designers. And of course all those friendly people that greet you as you enter the theatre, smile at you from behind the bar, and serve your drinks and snacks in the lobby are volunteers, too! Supporting the people putting on the show are the members of Regina Little Theatre Society Inc. Many of you in our audience tonight are members of RLT. Your membership in RLT provides you with many benefits such as receiving the RLT newsletter, Masks and Faces, and being informed of upcoming audition dates and show dates. As a member, you are also eligible to sit on RLT’s Board Of Directors. There are many important jobs performed by the members who sit on the board such as selecting the plays we produce every year, promoting & advertising RLT’s events, designing and updating the website, awarding scholarships and of course keeping track of the income and the expenses associated with running an organization such as RLT. In future programs we will focus on one or two key roles and provide you with more information about volunteering with RLT!
