Theatre Basics: The How To's of Stage Lighting

This workshop will be lecture style with demonstrations. It will cover such items as:
Open to all ages. Primarily for directors, stage managers, and aspiring technicians, but anyone interested is welcome.
Registration fee (e-transfer): Early Bird Registration October 6 to 18 at $15.
Late Registration at $25 closes on Oct 22.
Requirements: No specific requirements. Pen and paper to record takeaways. A small snack will be provided.
Leader Kelly Munce has learned stage lighting through experience. His training began with RLT and Summer Stage about 3 decades ago when he had the good fortune to learn from Harold Woodward. His early success lead to a stint as the RPAC technician from 1997 to 2001. His exposure through that time lead to work with various dance and performance groups that continues to today.

- When in the delivery process the lighting designer and technicians should be involved
- Types of lights and when to use them
- Where light should focus
- Light intensity
- Light colour: theory, warm or cool, use of gels, temperature, mixing
- Interaction with actors' makeup and costume
